Peter is currently serving his fifth term as the Mayor of his hometown of Cedar Grove where he has served on the Township Council since 2004.

Peter currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for NYSAVE, a non-profit organization which provides emergency funding for the veterinary care of sick or injured companion animals.

He also serves as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges, the largest association of YMCAs in the State of New Jersey.
